iJT, Fancy New Carbon Fibre Skins Designed By The Fantastic iCarbons – Who Wants One?

As you are all probably well aware, here at iJailbreakthis.com we are massive fans of iCarbons and have over the past several months pretty covered everything in the carbon fibre vinyl. If you are not familiar with who iCarbons are and what they do then you seriously must have been tucked away under a rock somewhere as these are the must have skins right now for your gadgets these days and you can not scroll through your Twitter timeline without having someone talking about them. We recently posted on out Twitter page that we had something “really exciting” to share with you all and posted a few pictures here and there but now is a great time to share with you what has been going on. iJailbreakthis is proud to announce our custom built iJailbreakthis iCarbons skins!

Now, as we know iCarbons is a massively popular brand in the gadget and tech world in both the USA and the UK and are actually the sponsors for the WWJC / World Wide Jailbreak Convention two years running. So as you can imagine when we were approached by iCarbons we were over the moon and jumped at the opportunity to to be part of something so big.

So after getting over the initial excitement we began working closely with @iCarbonsBruce to create a iCarbons skin that clearly represented iJailbreakthis. So what better way to do this than using the sleek and stylish carbon fibre skins and putting our new stamp on it with the colours and skins that were available on their site.  Bruce was kind enough to sit down and talk to us about how we wanted the logo to be displayed on the skins and really took into detail everything that we needed including sending some of these fantastic shots of the skins from design and development to the finished product. Which by the way looks awesome!

We managed to get a few words from Bruce and the iCarbons team and wanted to know the average time it takes to put a skin together?

Everything goes to our template team so it’s hard to average out a time. Basically it depends on the logo firstly. As an example (iJT Logo) was done in 4 steps. . . Uploaded the logo and basically recreated it in the correct format for the software we use. Then adjusted some of the specifics to make sure the machine will cutout the correct parts with no overlapping. The next step is duplicating the final logo to make an inline version to fit precisely inside the cut version that will be on the device. Step 3 – Depending on if there is multiple colors involved, (which iJT did have) we needed to separate the colors (white “JT” &  green “dot” for this one) to cut as a run of material. Since the machine is so big we also need to add other iCarbons products to be cut along side these inline versions of the logo. Everything is then cut in each color, weeded (removing all the unnecessary pieces that get thrown away) Step 4 – (again depending on the custom logo) we pre-install the logo pieces onto the backing paper and then we apply transfer tape across the custom kit to keep it from moving during installation on the product. Finally everything is packaged and shipped
